Incredible Padres Memorabilia Collection

You ‘meet’ some interesting people on the ole twitter machine. This past week, I noticed Tomas Blanco, had some cool Padres stuff, so I asked him if he’d like to put some up on the site. Glad he obliged. Some really cool stuff from the PCL Padres days all the way up to a recent Randy Jones bobblehead. See up on the top shelf that he’s got that decal that I blogged about and had never seen before. Well, there it is.

that bottle in the bottom left looks familiar :)

  2. John Brubaker says:

Wow the Padres’ marketing team had some serious style back in the 70s-80s. I love that official program. And that “there’s a method to our madness” bumper sticker. So good. They had this awesome dare-to-be-different identity back then that I feel is really awesome for a city that’s tucked away in the bottom corner of the US. Now as for the current identity…..

What current identity?! The Padres spent years running out a slew of absolute no-names in non-descript uniforms.

For this reason we should realize the Brubaker mockups won’t come to fruition, because there is no way a team that decided on the current boring look would have the nads or even the taste for them.

The Padres aren’t my team, but I do my best to support them. I feel for their fans.
