And why wouldn’t you set the soundtrack to this last play with Benny Hill? Regardless of all the stupid crap that happened in the game that led up to this point… I thought this last play was a great effort. Rivers wasn’t gonna throw a 70 yard bomb into the end zone… we all know that, so this was the next best option.
As for Rivers doing his best Kaeding impression? I’d have done the same damn thing if I was a rather immobile starting QB of an NFL franchise. End the play. You don’t want them picking it up and scoring again because that just sucks. You certainly don’t want to try to pick it up when you’ve got defenders that close that can break you in half… so what do you do? You kick it, and you walk off the field dejected.
