Posted that tweet 4 days ago. Prophesy has been partially fulfilled. D’Antoni is the new coach of the Lakers. No trophies just yet. Apparently, Phil was ready to take the job, but in the end… asked too much. Be prepared to hear incredibly conflicting stories from both Phil Jackson and the Lakers. “Sources” are already telling ESPN that Phil was “stunned” that he didn’t get the job, even though he was supposedly asking for an ownership stake in the team. Will be interesting to watch that drama play out. Sucks for D’Antoni because now that fans know Phil was up for taking the job… every single Lakers loss with be filled with “Phil would’ve won that game” talk. Not cool. Hopefully D’Antoni just wins every game and then nobody can say crap about it. Seems likely.
