Anybody Missing an Eyeball?

Because I might’ve found it on the beach… just hanging out, staring at me.

AP – This Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012 photo made available by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission shows a giant eyeball from a mysterious sea creature that washed ashore and was found by a man walking the beach in Pompano Beach, Fla. on Wednesday. No one knows what species the huge blue eyeball came from. The eyeball will be sent to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Research Institute in St. Petersburg, FL. Good LORD, are you kidding me with that thing? When I was a kid, my friends Dad would tell us a story about kayaking when a shark approaches his kayak. I don’t remember the details of the story, but a phrase he used always stuck in my mind. He held up his hands into the shape of a circle saying, “it had an eye the size of a softball!” As I grew older, I grew to understand the hyperbole in his story. Now… I’m wondering if maybe there wasn’t any hyperbole after all?

By the way, I’ve got my money on a squid for this thing. What’d’ya got?
