The Padres Looked Like a Big League Ball Club Last Night

One of the few nights that Time Warner cable users should be legitimately pissed off they couldn’t watch the Padres. Alexi Amarista, coming in at 5’3″ or so, fell a triple short of hitting for the cycle. Still never been done by a Padre. Clayton Richard went 8.2 innings for the win. Yasmani Grandal got his third MLB hit… which was another home run. He got his fourth too, a single. And holy crap, Cam Maybin went Mickey Mantle on a ball, launching it 485 feet, the longest home run of 2012 in all of major league baseball. That, my lobster friends, is a big league ball club.

Think it’s a coincidence that this performance came soon after I mocked them as an “actual MLB team“, or posted the “Call Me Maybin” gear despite his inability to keep his average above the mendoza line, or told you what a boss Grandal is? There are no coincidences. The entire team reads LobShots and I lit a fire under their ass. You’re welcome, San Diego.
