BIG.TIME.SHOUTOUT. to a member of the Lobster family. Kyle Zimmer, a San Diego native out of La Jolla High School, was selected 5th overall by the Kansas City Royals in the 2012 MLB draft. Here’s Selig, sounding like he just polished off a fifth of scotch.
We’ve known Kyle since he was in elementary school and there isn’t another kid out there that deserves this more than him. He’s the Anti-Matt Bush. Great kid. Great Family. Great Curveball. Oh, and being the pro scouts that we are, we called this exactly a year ago.
After getting drafted, Kyle even took a second to give LobShots some love with our favorite Ginger. Freaking love it. We also dug up a shot that SI Vault is going to eat up in 15 years. Check out Zimmer (second from left) batting clean up on his professional wiffle ball team ‘Swagger Child’. I bet JBag, The Ginger, Showman II, and Dubs wish they could light it up at 99 mph now.
Oh, and the Padres picked some kid named Fried. Hooray!! (Insert sarcasm font)

This is awesome. Such a great moment when he got drafter. Looks like the Royals just got a steady influx of fans from SoCal.
yezzur. first time i’ll cheer for the royals since Bo Jackson left.
You guys looked like you guys had an awesome time. I can’t wait until he signs a 9 figure contract with the Yankees in five years.
Congrats!!
Go Dodgers!! Just sayin… Screw the NY Wankees!
That picture is killing me right now, I can’t stop laughing.
