The Legend of Rick Ankiel’s Cannon

You’ve probably seen it, but if you haven’t seen Ankiel’s laser throw from center field to home plate… you need to go watch it now, because it’s superhuman. Mad props to Jordan Schafer who didn’t even think of tagging for home. Brilliant decision. The lore of Ankiel’s arm is growing… and nobody is ever gonna run on him. Not even you, Cam Maybin.

As a former MLB pitcher, you can insert your joke about that being the “closest thing to a strike he’s thrown this decade” here.

I’ll take Nate Schierholtz any day, that was a hell of a throw though.

  2. Greanthumb says:

Weir could outgun him(pound for pound)

  3. BF says:

Schierholtz for sure. Ankiel had a running start towards home.

  4. Mac says:

And, Schierholtz didn’t get caught using HGH, it’s hard to see, but that was actually a big * that Ankiel threw, on the run, towards home. Nate just turned and threw a seed. A clean and natural seed.
