The Winter Classic is the Best Thing to Happen to Hockey… Ever

The Philadelphia Flyers and the New York Rangers line up for the National Anthem as US Air Force fighter jets fly over during the 2012 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic at Citizens Bank Park on January 2, 2012 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Hockey fans will say my headline is an ignorant statement. Well, most lobsters know that I’m not much of a hockey fan. I respect the game and all… just don’t really have ‘a team’ and never really watch games on a regular basis. Yet, the one game I want to watch every year is the Winter Classic. I just think it’s so freaking cool. It gets sports fans that aren’t hockey fans to watch hockey. Brilliant. How rad is that photo up top? Click to enlarge. Find a bunch more here. The Rangers beat the Flyers 3-2. Here are two more of my favorites.

I don’t want to sound rude, because there ARE hockey fans out there and I’m not in the fighting mood today…but i really dislike hockey, hockey highlights, and whatever icing is. i think BP’s title of best thing to happen to hockey is accurate, but it still can’t make me watch it.

    BP I need your help…
I have been desperately looking to acquire a copy of the fighter jet fly-over @ the 2012 Winter Classic (the first of the images above). My only intent is to blow-up the image as and hang it in my office. Getty images, etc. won’t sell to retail consumers, and they pretty rude about it as well.

Nonetheless, if you could point me in any positive direction or otherwise help me with this, I’d be so appreciative.
    Thanks!
