Did the Guy That Tried to Pay With a $1 Million Dollar Bill at Wal-Mart Really Believe it was Real?

LEXINGTON – Talk about leaving the store with a big chunk of change.

A Lexington man is accused trying to use a fake $1 million bill to pay for his purchases at a Walmart.

Michael Anthony Fuller, 53, of 3 Parker St., walked into the Walmart on Lowes Boulevard in Lexington on Nov. 17. He shopped for a while, picking up a vacuum cleaner, a microwave oven and other merchandise, totaling $476, an arrest warrant says.

When he got to the register, Fuller gave the cashier the phony bill, saying that it was real.

Store staff called police.

Fuller was later charged with attempting to obtain property by false pretense and uttering a forged instrument, both felonies, court records show.

A warrant says of the fake million-dollar bill: “There is no such thing.”

The largest bill in circulation is a $100 bill. In 1969, federal officials discontinued the use of $500, $1,000, $5,000 and $10,000 bills because of lack of public use.

The largest note ever printed was the $100,000 bill, which featured President Woodrow Wilson. The bills, which were not available to the public, were printed from Dec. 18, 1934, through Jan. 9, 1935, and were used for transactions between Federal Reserve banks.

Fuller was being held Friday night in the Davidson County Jail with bond set at $17,500. He is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.

Lexington police Sgt. Shannon Sharpe said the case is unusual.

“It is kind of strange,” Sharpe said.

Man Crush! Man Crush! Michael Anthony Fuller, you animal! Love this dude. Love him for so many reasons. I just love that there is a person like him on this earth. How boring would life be if everybody had common sense? The real story here is not that he tried to pay with a $1 million dollar bill, it’s the question of whether or not he really believed it was real. See, I know what you’re thinking… nobody really believes there’s a $1 million dollar bill. This guy just figured that the folks that work at a Kentucky North Carolina Wal-Mart are probably so stupid, they might believe him and give him cash back. Right? Wrong. Think about it… if this cat thought he was gonna get $900,000+, in cash, as change from WalMart… you’re damn right he could’ve easily thought it was real. So, if he did believe it to be real… where’d he get it? How much swag did he have? Just cruisin’ around carrying a real $1 million dollar bill in his pocket. This story is so awesome on so many levels. Somebody do a lie detector test on this guy…. because I need to know what degree of stupid we’re dealing with here. I won’t be able to sleep until I find out if he really thought it was a real bill.

Side note: Who carried around $10,000 dollar bills in their pocket in the 1960’s? I want to party with them.

Double side note: I know it’s redundant to type the “$” sign and write the word “dollar” after it. Shut the hell up, it just looks better that way. Signed, The Department of Redundancy Department.
