Click to enlarge on the above image. Take some time to look at it. It’s the logos that will be on the NBA practice jerseys, obviously sponsored by Adidas. At first glance, it just looks like they are all the same font… city or state up top, “BASKETBALL” on the bottom. Well, after closer inspection… it’s interesting how different some are. You know tons of time and money are research went into these logos… graphic designers that are smarter than me with logos. Both the team and the NBA had to sign off on them, or had some say, I’m guessing. So it’s interesting to me that some teams went so generic, while some spiced theirs up…set themselves apart, if you will. Dunno why this fascinates me, it just does.
Only two team don’t have BASKETBALL on the bottom, rather their team name: CAVALIERS and TRAIL BLAZERS. I think it’s funny most of the “A”s are tilted one way or the other, yet the “A” in Blazers is straight up. The Jazz have UTAH JAZZ, their full team name, up top…as do the INDIANA PACERS. The MIAMI HEAT did the same, even added their stupid little flame to the “T”. ATLANTA looks neat and symmetrical with their book-end “A”s. The Clippers and Lakers are identical with different colors. The Sixers are the only team with a logo next to their city. The NETS are huge, and I’m sure they chose that instead of New Jersey, you know, a seamless transition to Brooklyn. The one standard in each logo is obviously the NBA logo… and the Adidas logo is the same color as the bottom word on all of them.
Again, dunno why this fascinates me… it just does. Get over it.
