Come Help Dallas & Mat Latos Save Animals!

One of my favorite lobsters on the planet, the lovely Dallas Latos, is getting together with her husband Mat… you may have heard of him, starting pitcher for the San Diego Padres… for a great charity event. I asked her if she’d like to say a few words about the upcoming event that will give you an opportunity to adopt a pet, or just give a few bucks to a great cause, and get an autograph from Mat Latos in return. Pretty freaking awesome. So, consider this the first of many guest posts from Dallas Latos:

What up, lobsters. If you know anything about Mat, you know he loves animals. I love animals too. So, Mat and I would like to invite you to join us on Saturday, November 12th at a pet adoption and fundraiser event for the “Spay and Neuter Action Project” (oh, SNAP!). The event will take place at the Petco store located at 3994 Clairemont Mesa Blvd from 12- 3pm.

It’d be silly to think everybody can adopt a pet, but we’d love to have you stop by and say hi to support the event. Mat will be signing autographs for a $10 minimum donation to SNAP from 12pm-1pm. If you don’t have anything of your own that you would like signed, pictures and baseball cards will be available for an extra $5 donation. We will also be raffling a game-used, signed jersey at the event. You can buy raffle tickets from 12pm-3pm and the winning ticket for the jersey will be drawn at 3pm. And no, we’re not lame, so participants do NOT need to be present to win, we’re just pumped you stopped by the event and gave some of your hard earned money to a good cause.

All the donations received at this event go to SNAP’s “Angel Medical Fund” which prevents animals from being euthanized if a home can’t be found for them right away. That thought alone is sickening. Let’s help these animals! For all the details on SNAP, please visit: http://www.snap-sandiego.org/

It should be a fun time… Mat’s looking forward to meeting some Padres fans, and I’m looking forward to these adorable animals finding some new homes. Also, if you’re there, and you see BP… please keep him away from Mat. He’s already purchased a handful of raffle tickets, and he seems a little too eager to get a signed jersey from my husband. Man crush alert…

Oh, one last thing… in a desperate attempt by BP to make it look like he does not have a crush on my husband, he wants me to offer up autographs. Yes, me. Clearly, he has zero understanding of  the whole “fans want professional athlete autographs, not their wives” concept. Even after I told him he was ridiculous and that there’s not a human on the planet that would want my autograph… I have agreed to do this under 2 conditions:

1.) you make an extra $5 donation to SNAP

2.) you have to mention “lobshots” when you ask for it.

There, BP, I hope you’re happy. You’ve set both of us up for internet ridicule, thanks. I’m only doing this to help raise money for these amazing animals. See you guys there!

Thanks Dallas… I guess? Stay out of my relationship with Mat. All kidding aside, come out to the event for a good time for a good cause. PLEASE, I BEG OF YOU, ASK DALLAS FOR AN AUTOGRAPH, IT WILL EMBARRASS THE HELL OUT OF HER. Also, don’t you dare think of asking Mat to sign any balls, “I HATE SF.” Only three of those exist, and I already own one. Don’t judge me.
