Processing Game 6…and the Jersey That Once Was…

Honestly, I could barely sleep last night. That World Series game 6 had me so jacked up all night, I couldn’t keep my eyes closed. What I want to do is just write 50 posts today about the emotions of the game, the ups, the downs… the early errors that made it look like a Little League game, followed by the whipsaw heroics by Berkman, Hamilton, Freese…the list goes on. It was just incredible. Buster Olney, on Mike and Mike radio this morning, said, “I know that, without a doubt, that was the greatest game in baseball history.” I really do feel bad for everybody who didn’t get to see it. Alas, I won’t write only on baseball today… I will say that game 7 will, sadly, be disappointing tonight. There’s just no way it can live up to last night’s game. I already made a post about David Freese getting mauled after his walk-off jack. UniWatch grabbed the screenshot I put up for their post featuring tons of pictures of David Freese’s jersey. I need to start watermarking my screengrabs. Fixed, thanks again to the RyDogg.

(^watermark!) Here’s the sequence of pictures that led to that…via UniWatch.

From there it got seriously weird, as more and more players tried to grab a piece of Freese’s uni:

When they’d finished ripping the jersey off of Freese, they started in on his undershirt:

Love that this thing is going to Cooperstown… right where it belongs.
