LobShots Thoughts: Chargers vs. Vikings

First of all….great win for the Bolts. Anytime your idiot special teams immediately revert back to their 2010 selves, and give up an opening kickoff return for a TD, and you come back and win… that’s a good thing. It’s better when it happens against AD, a RB that just a couple short years ago, ran up your ass for a NFL single game record of 296 yards. I guess it helped that Donovan McNabb threw for a whopping 39 yards. Pathetic. Obviously, the worst news of the day was that Kaeding went down with what is likely a torn ACL.

As far a we can tell, nobody knows the severity of the injury just yet, but it’s safe to say he won’t be back next week…some reports even suggest he’ll be out for the season. Not cool. The crowd went apeshit though when Scifres drilled that 40 yard field goal.  Luis Castillo is out too..broke his damn leg. You gotta think they’ll bring back OG to take his place. How good was it to see Takeo Spikes and Bob Sanders gang tackling fools out there? Loved it. A healthy Bob Sanders is a good Bob Sanders. Game 1, survival. Phew.

Our boy Tolbert had a serious nose for the end zone, scoring 3 TDs, which of course begs the question of how many fantasy owners across the nation started him? Who started his hair? Of course, Antonio Garay couldn’t let another teammate steal his hair thunder.

So weird. So, so weird. Rivers looked a little bit off all day. I mean, he’s Rivers, so he’s badass, but something just wasn’t clicking. But, we won, so I actually look at that as a huge plus… he wasn’t on his A+ game and we still pulled the W. He was fired up too. Everybody see him screaming at Norval after that 4th and long call? Screaming.

A little later on… I saw his arm. Did anyone else? Looks like he’s got leprosy.

Gross, man.

What was FOX thinking when they pulled the camera shots away from Tolbert to show Rivers running off the field instead. Do they know nothing?

Do your thang, big fella. Ryan Mathews got himself over 100 all purpose yards and managed to look pretty elusive out there.

How bout that tip drill pick from Shaun Philips? Nice way to start your career in Minnesota, McNabb.

As for the things that went down off the field… can’t anything bad about all the 9/11 tributes. They’re important. Never forget. Loved that bald eagle swoopin’ around pregame.

And the cheerleaders in red, white and blue? I’m totally okay with that.

The Bolts are 1-0 to start the season… smiles all around.
